I didnt see a thread for this so I made one if that's okay... Madonna Accused of Violating Russian Visa Laws- Pop star supposedly did not have the right permit needed to perform
By Jon Blistein April 23, 2013 3:45 PM ET Madonna has been accused by a Russian legislator of violating tax and migration laws after allegedly performing a commercial concert in St. Petersburg with the wrong visa, and then failing to pay proper taxes on the money she made.
The charges come eight months after Madonna's concert at the city's sports and music center Peterburgsky, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "I don't like that someone collected Russians' money and didn’t pay taxes," legislator Vitaly Milonov said, according to the RIA Novosti wire service, adding that Madonna made $1.1 million from the concert. The prosecutor's office is set to rule on whether Madonna did violate these laws, though at the time, the agency wouldn't comment on the situation.
Last year, Madonna stirred controversy in Russia by voicing her support for pu55y Riot while in Moscow, then advocating for gay rights in St. Petersburg. Milonov, coincidentally, is the author of the city's controversial anti-gay law, which came into effect last year and prohibits the "propagation of homosexuality" and "promotion of gay lifestyles."
Russia's foreign ministry seconded Milonov's visa claim, pointing out that Madonna had been issued a single-entry, three-month visa upon invitation from the culture ministry. It reportedly limits the purpose of her visit to "cultural relations" – in order to perform, Madonna would have needed a work permit.

I don't think Madonna should be sued... Because she didn't perform in Russia. If standing around and doing some very mediocre dance moves and showing off your boobs and butt and yelling at people to "shut the f--k up" and flipping them off counts as a "performance" then consider me shocked. :clown2: :clown2: :clown2: :clown2: :clown2: Kidding aside, I'm glad someone is standing up against the woman. Before, it seemed (correct me if I'm wrong on this) that nobody would stand up against her antics and "rule breaking" because the media always said positive things about her. But with the recent lawsuits (Salsoul Orchestra) and Russia and President Banda calling her out, Madonna isn't the powerful "artist" everyone claims her to be.

It must be great to live in Italy where she was banned. If only my country would ban her to.

I need to make a "Homosexuals and Madonna" thread... Madonna, Lady Gaga Violated Russian Law – ProsecutorsQuote MOSCOW, August 1 (RIA Novosti) – US pop divas Madonna and Lady Gaga, who championed gay rights during their shows in Russia, had cultural exchange visas that “did not provide for” performing for profit, Russian prosecutors said Thursday. The Prosecutor General’s office released a statement in response to an inquiry submitted in April by St. Petersburg lawmaker Vitaly Milonov, author of the city’s controversial anti-gay propaganda law. The St. Petersburg City Council member accused both US musicians of distributing “homosexual propaganda” among minors and said they performed in Russia illegally. Milonov authored a bill making “promoting sodomy, lesbianism, bisexuality and transgenderism among minors” in St. Petersburg punishable with fines of up to 500,000 rubles ($15,000). The bill was adopted in March 2012 and served as a basis for federal legislation banning the promotion of “non-traditional sexual relations” among minors that was signed into law in June. Madonna and Lady Gaga had cultural exchange visas that “were used with the aim of conducting commercial concert activities,” although their visas “did not provide for” making profit, the statement from the Prosecutor General’s office said. The office said it might send the information about the violations to Russia’s Foreign Ministry and Federal Migration Service in order to prosecute the singers and prevent similar things from happening. It did not provide further details about possible prosecution. During her August 2012 shows in St. Petersburg and Moscow, Madonna asked the audience to raise their hands in support of gays and lesbians and also spoke out in support of the jailed pu55y Riot band members. Shortly after the show, a group of Russian activists filed lawsuits against Madonna and the show’s organizers, seeking $10.5 million in compensation for “moral damages.” A St. Petersburg court ruled in November that the pop star had not violated the anti-gay propaganda law during her show. Ahead of her December show in St. Petersburg, Lady Gaga thanked Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in a tweet for “not standing by” the Kremlin’s anti-gay propaganda bill, which had been submitted to the State Duma, Russia’s lower house of parliament. Asked about the bill, Medvedev had said that "not all relations between people can be regulated by law." A Russian show business promoter said that the decision by the Prosecutor General’s office may stop foreign artists from performing in Russia. “Not one artist, circus or exhibition will come here if the Prosecutor’s Office fines someone now,” Yevgeny Finkelstein, head of the St. Petersburg-based PMI media holding told RIA Novosti.

Her fans are now accusing Gaga of copying The Original One's pro-gay message in her Russia show.
Her fans are pathetic. Accept the fact that anyone is speaking up for equal rights even if you don't like them. And M wasn't even the one who started the protesting. It was pu55y Riot so she's just using then to get attention

Now Madonna tells Putin to free Greenpeace crew members jailed following protest Comments from the article: Excellent post. Her fans think that everyone should call Madonna "The Queen of Pop" when she's just an untalented whore. True. If Madonna thinks her "Art for Revolution" thing is going to make a difference... (Before the fans attack me, I have said multiple times that if she does donate money to organizations and charities, then great! It still won't change my opinion that she's an untalented copycat though. However, it's been proven multiple times that she barely donates any money to worthwhile organizations, with most of her donations going to the Kabbalah Centre).
