The same was with Olivia Newton-John who was one of the first people if not even first who dared to sing about physicality. One year later originaldonna had a song 'physical attraction' with similar melody. Or Malcom's "Deep in Vogue" and 1 year l8er "her" vogue with a video copied from Horst P Horst's photos. Her fans claim that she was the only one who brought voguing to mainstream. Even when I told them that Malcom's hit was on 1 position on US dance chart they reply that it's not enough, cause USA is not the whole world.

Her fans think she did everything first. se.x and other risqué topics weren't discussed openly as they are today, but those discussions did occurs before Madonna. Such as in the late 70s when Donna Summer was going for a more sexualities image.

The posts above this one were originally posted in another thread, I have to go offline soon but some quick things: - Olivia's getting a new reputationThis newspaper article discusses how Olivia Newton-John's image has changed after the release of her Physical album. I know she didn't write most of the songs on it, but she was going for a more sexualized image way before Madonna had even hit the scene. Madonna the creator of sexuality in music? Not even close. - Her "Physical" music video featured gay men. I know Madonna fans like to exaggerate her "legacy" but Olivia did cause outrage with the end scene of her Before 1990, I doubt Madonna (I need to do more research on this claim) ever addressed her homosexual fanbase because teenage girls were the ones (the majority) dressing like her and buying her records. A photo from the "Physical" video released in 1981. You won't find any gay men in any Madonna video before 1990. So much for "nobody" addressing the homosexual community before Madonna. - "Madonna talked about AIDS before anyone else!" No. I know Cyndi Lauper had a song about a friend she lost to AIDS (around 1985; all proceeds went to an AIDS organization) but this gay lifestyle site claims that Olivia Newton-John was the FIRST mainstream artist to record a song about safe se.x. Before Madonna's 1989 "Spanish Eyes" song (which is apparently about losing a friend to AIDS) and 1992's "In this Life". You can read that interview/article here: Interview with gay ally Olivia Newton-JohnSo as you can see, Olivia Newton-John did do/talk about some things before Madonna

This is the Olivia thread. So just post anything here. As for your other post about the images not showing up: I see them right now as I'm quoting your post. I don't know what's wrong because the same thing happened to an image I tried to put in this thread.

Lol, when I posted a comment above with this links I was able to watch the photos. As I can see 2 photos repeat so 4th one is this: The image code is acting up. But it seems that it only posts photos if they have start with http:// For example, the photos you tried to post are https:// just take out the 's' and it will be fixed. I don't know why it does that but it's something I can't fix...
