"Ray of Light" Album Rip-Offs

Copydonna has further proved that she has no talent or the skills to come up with an original idea.

Good job someone! It's only a matter of one before her whole career is exposed.

And the Gaga thing is interesting. Gaga is more relevant than her and she could use the Copy Yourself/Born This Way controversy to copy something from Gaga.

But didn't Liedonna already copy Gaga with the eyeliner running down your face thing and the outfit she wore at the Super Bowl?

And it that a Madonna video from the Ray of Light album?

I have read interviews where she states that she has "grown up" and "matured" for that album.

If she really "grew up" and "matured" she wouldn't have continued to steal ideas and claimed them as her own.

It's the same video!

Madonna is such an "original songwriter".

I know she bought the song but why the hell is she listed as a co-writer? She didn't write anything more to the song! It's the same lyrics repeating themselves!

She must have given Curtiss Maldoon a nice amount of $$$ to allow her name to be added to HIS song.

It's also a good example of how she has others write her most successful songs.

Not so original now, huh?

FROZEN

Madonna's "darkest and personal" ( ) song copied "Ma vie fout le camp", composed by Salvatore Acquaviva of Mouscron. She lost the lawsuit in 2005 and the song was banned in Belgium.

RAY OF LIGHT

She didn't write the song even though it's considered one of her best songs ever. As seen in the above posts, she was given a writing credit even though she didn't alter or add any lyrics to the original Curtis Maldoon version.

Additionally, the video for "Ray of Light" was a copy of the video Biagio Antonacci's made for his 1994 single "Non è Mai Stato Subito."

SKY FITS HEAVEN/CANDY PERFUME GIRL

Madonna stole two lines from a GAP commercial for the song "Sky Fits Heaven," which is included in her 1998 album, Ray of Light. You can see the video here:



Max Blagg Poem:
"Sky fits heaven so ride it
Child fits mother so hold your baby tight
Lips fit mouth so kiss them..."

Madonna's "Original and Thought-Provoking" Lyrics:
"Sky fits heaven so fly it
That's what the prophet said to me
Child fits mother so hold your baby tight
That's what my future could see..."

- She changed "ride" to "fly," hoping nobody would catch on to the theft
- The "child fits mother so hold your baby tight" line is an obvious rip-off
- The rest of Madonna's song relies on the "_____ fits _____" formula. While Max Blagg's poem line of "lips fits mouth" isn't in Madonna's song, other notable lyrics in the song using this formula are "fate fits karma" or "love fits virtue", among others.

But its kind of pathetic if you ask me. Stealing a lyric from a TV commercial? That's Madonna for you.

Also in the article: Lyrics for her awful "Candy Perfume Girl" song were made by combining different words together from a Magnetic Poetry kit. No wonder that song makes absolutely no sense. She probably just grabbed one of these kits and stringed any words together in order to save herself the trouble of "thinking" about the songs' "meaning."

Madonna Gets Lyrical Help From Gap Ad, Freezes For "Frozen"

Madonna's publicist confirms that two lines in the chorus of "Sky Fits Heaven," a song on Madonna's new "Ray of Light" album, are taken from a 1993 TV ad for the Gap starring poet Max Blagg.

Blagg's poem included the lines, "Sky fits heaven so fly it, Child fits mother so hold your baby tight." Madonna's song includes both lines, changing the first to "Sky fits heaven so ride it."

Representatives for Madonna say Blagg agreed to a deal where he was paid for the use of the lyrics, but gets no credit on the track. Blagg was unavailable for comment.

Meanwhile, manufacturers of Magnetic Poetry -- those magnetic word bits usually seen gracing refrigerators and file cabinets -- are claiming that the Material Girl could have used one of its boxed kits to write "Candy Perfume Girl," another song off "Ray of Light."

An employee for Magnetic Poetry noticed the similarities between the lyrics for "Girl" and the words included in one of their products, and the company noted in a press release that less than 4% of the song's words are not found in one of their poetry kits. A spokesperson for Madonna said the singer denied ever having heard of Magnetic Poetry.

At any rate, Madonna generally gets what she wants, even if it's not what she expected, and she recently talked with MTV Asia about the grueling shoot for her video for "Frozen" [1MB QuickTime].

"Because the song is called 'Frozen'," Madonna said, "the original idea was to go someplace where it's really cold and where there's snow, and we were thinking of shooting it in Iceland. But then I thought, 'You know what, I'm going to be freezing. I'm going to be miserable, I'll be complaining all day, I'll be sorry that I ever chose a cold place. So I said, 'Let's do it in the desert, it'll be warm,' and it would be sort of the opposite, because even though you think of deserts as being hot, they're still sort of frozen in terms of there's no vegetation and they're very desolate."

"I thought that that would still work as a visual," Madonna continued, "but then we got there and it was like 20 degrees below zero, it was bitterly cold, and I was barefoot. I was barefoot for the entire video, and then it started pouring rain and everyone got really sick, and it just actually turned out to be a really miserable experience" [1MB QuickTime].
