MTV News seems to be flooded with incompetent writers - or maybe they just get paid on the side to write positive articles about Gaga - who knows?
After publishing an article that said ARTPOP will "save pop music" (without even having access to the album), the same “journalist", James Montgomery is now saying "the Queen is back" - regarding to Gaga’s return to the MTV Video Music Awards.
"The queen is back"? “A comeback and a coronation"? - How is that even possible?
FUN QUIZZ:
Who is the artist who has taken home more awards in the history of the VMAs?
Answer:
Madonna.
Of all artists (male, female, and bands), Madonna is the one who has won more awards at the VMAs.
So if there’s a QUEEN of the VMAs, it happens to be Madonna - NOT Lady Gaga.
It’s a matter of FACT. It’s LOGIC. Not an opinion:
If you’re talking the VMAs, and you want to name someone "the queen”, the only natural, logical and obvious choice is the artist who has won the most awards in that show. And that is NOT Lady Gaga.
And it’s NOT even just about the number of awards Madonna has won. It’s about how Madonna managed to WOW the public every single time she performed at the VMAs. All her VMA performances have become iconic - not one or two, but ALL of them (as seen in the pictures on this entry).
How could you name Lady Gaga "the queen of the VMAs" if she has performed only twice on the show? And worse: both times, her performances pale in comparison with other artists. Even Britney Spears has had much more memorable VMAs performances than Gaga.
This so-called journalist from from MTV News says Gaga "terrified all of America with her bloody performance of “Paparazzi" — and running all the way through her gender-bending turn as Jo Calderone in 2011.”
I seriously cringed when I read this.
Funnily enough, in 2009, when Gaga performed Paparrazzi at the VMAs, rather than terrify, she seemed to have established herself as a motive of mockery back then, when websites all over the world made jokes about her blood being from menstruation.
Then a couple of years later, the only worldwide reaction she got out of her "gender-bending turn as Jo Calderone" was that people called her a “copycat" for doing what Annie Lennox had done at the Grammy’s in 1984. Not to mention that a lot of people also mentioned how Madonna had done that before as well.
So, yes, folks… according to James Montgomery from MTV News, Lady Gaga is the Queen of the VMAs. LOL.
But hey, who the hell cares, right? At the end of the day, it all comes down to one thing:
When MTV was a MUSIC channel, there was no one bigger than Madonna. But now that MTV became a reality TV network, they are all about Lady Gaga. That is the best argument anyone could ever ask for to prove how ridiculous this is.
In the meantime, 30 years ago today, on July 26, 1983, Madonna’s first album was released in the US.
Yes, Madonna, the woman who then became the best selling female recording artist in the world (according to the Guinness Book of Records).
Yes, Madonna, the second best selling female artist in the US (behind Barbra Streisand), according to RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).
Yes, Madonna, the same artist who has won more MTV awards than any other artist.
Still, as of right now, @mtvnews still hasn’t published any article on her debut album. The album that started it all. Talk about bullshit.
Meanwhile, if you’re on Twitter, make sure you celebrate one of the world’s biggest stars by keeping Madonna on the trending topics:
