Not really. However they think that she is a queen of pop music and huge icon because of all theese stupid media saying so.  I've watched a program with my parents. It was about celebrities earning a lot of money. Suddenly they started talking about madonna. 'The empress of pop music....'  I've got crazy and started shouting 'wtf is this sheet, who made this stupid program?....   ' My parents asked me what happened and I told them that she nothing but copycat. They didn't believe me so I showed them SuperAmanda's listal. It didn't convince them much. They said 'It's just the same skirt, it's only similar hairstyle. Everyone wore it theese days...' Then I showeh'em 'justify my flops' and 'security of the first world' by Public Enemy. My mom still was saying that it's not the same music. 'It has different melody'(  ) But my dad said 'It's identical.' and he backed to his room  I showed my mom 'Ray of xerox machine' and Biaggio Antonacci's videos and she finally was convinced. Later I told my cousin something about theese stupid fan wars between little monsters and madonsters and that copionna's career is one huge "homage". She didn't seem to be interested in it but she said she heard that Gaga's fashion shows are copied. Where did she hear that? |

Some of her rip-offs are so obvious especially the Justify My Love and Public Enemy one. The instrumentation is way too similar for anyone to even suggest they are different. But at laest you convinced them both at the end. Oh yeah. "Gaga's copied fashion from Madonna". Like two outfits look the same and were automatically copied. Lmao. I do think she copied Marilyn, because Madonna seemed to copy everything down to the exact detail multiple times. But there have been photos of Gaga apparently copying other artists fashion. So maybe that's where she drew that conclusion from. Anyways, to the original topic, my mom had a couple Madonna tapes lying around the house. She actually played them. And there's home video footage of me dancing to Material Girl when I was like... 5. Gosh. This is so embarassing. Lol. But I'm glad now that I don't dance around to her copied music anymore because of seeing the stuff she copied. But I think she got rid of them around the time the American Life stuff happened. Who knows, who cares. |

Oh. And this reminds me of a story of an ex-boyfriend of mines. He was 24 and I was 17 (yeah. The age difference. Lol.) but one day we were in his car when he was like, "You look like Madonna from the 80s." I started cracking up and was like, "No I don't.  But he said, "I mean it in a good way. Madonna was so hot back then. Just like you." So he takes me to his house and his room (before then I hadn't gone to his house) and he had like posters of Madonna from the 80's and some Madonna Hard Candy poster on his wall.  And he was straight (so he said) but let's just say that was the last time he went out on a date with me.  But I was just standing there like, WTF. Because by that time, the Lady Gaga/Madonna Born this Way stuff was already being reported and from online digging found Madonna was such a thief in lots of stuff. So to say Gaga is a copycat is kind of hypocritical when Madonna herself has also copied so much. |
