Do You Think Madonna Is Rude?

A Texas theater chain owner is sending a stern, 140-character message to the Material Girl: Not even you are allowed to text during a movie.

Last week, the New York Post's Page Six reported — wholly anonymously, it should be noted — that Madonna, clad in black lace gloves, was thumbing away during the New York Film Festival premiere of 12 Years a Slave. When a fellow filmgoer asked her to cease and desist her digits dance, she allegedly — and shockingly — snapped, "It's for business ... enslaver!"

Tim League, CEO of the Alamo Cinema Drafthouse chain, decided to (try and) shame the superstar with a mildly menacing tweet: "Until she apologizes to movie fans, Madonna is banned from watching movies @drafthouse," which, not surprisingly, has a tough anti-text and talk policy.

Although League seemed to backpedal a bit once the Twitterverse took him task for stirring an unsubstantiated pot in the name of publicity, calling the tsk-ing tweet "really just a joke," he hardened up again when he spoke with Entertainment Weekly on Saturday: "Yeah, I'm serious (about the ban), but I don't think it really affects her life that much."

Still, just in case she's looking for a little big screen diversion the next time she's in the Lone Star State, be warned, Madonna: "Now that it seems to have taken hold, sure, I'm going to enforce it," League said.
